The Gate
The book of The Gate Program “The Gate of recovery from addiction,”
has a big grown in popularity over the past two years, especially among specialists in the field of addiction treatment. So, many hospitals and treatment centers in Egypt and some Arab countries began to use it as the primary reference in preparing, building plans, and treatment sessions for the patients with addiction because it contains a therapeutic program that has been designed innovatively by using the principles of psychology theories and presented in a simplified form that can be easily absorbed by both the therapist and the patients. In a short period, the book began to be classified as the most famous book in the Arabic language, and it ranked first (according to the publisher’s report) as the best-selling book in the field of addiction treatment. This book contains a therapeutic program that was specially designed to provide a structured program for treating patients with a substance use problem. It consists of forty psychological sessions which have been prepared in a manner based on how to benefit from many different therapeutic styles and psychology theories for achieving the recovery from addiction. Our vision depends on looking at the treatment of addiction holistically, in the sense that we can benefit from the psychotherapy theories multiple to achieve the recovery. Though each theory has its particular orientations and its unique therapeutic methods; however, by making the integration between these different therapeutic methods, can achieve the desired treatment. This program is called The Gate program. And the aim of choosing this name is to determine that the most important goals that the program seeks to achieve are to help the patient with addiction to find "The gate," the starting point, or the correct entry point that makes him able to meet the recovery.
